How To Determine The Opening Side Of A Door.

Whenever a door opening side is mentioned, what should come to an individual's mind is nothing but the side a door leaf swings to when opened. This opening side can only be determined by standing at the normal front side of the door in the opposite direction. The door opening side is a parameter that whenever neglected, a door becomes a nuisance and may end up being removed from its position. So, whenever we have doors to install, we should not hesitate to consider the points highlighted below.

 1. Whenever a door space is cited closer to an adjacent room wall or at the point of intersection where the two adjoining room walls meet each other,the door leaf should swing to the direction of the adjacent wall. This is to guarantee an easy access to the room and not the door leaf causing obstruction.
 The picture below is a picture of a door leaf swinging to the left direction when it is opened from the front side.


2. If the walls and door space arrangement is not like what was described in the number one, the door leaf can be made to swing to any direction. But the ease of accessing the room interiors should not be overlooked. Like if the room or house owner wants to bring in a set of seats,refrigerator, mattress and other bulky household items. The door leaf should not be an obstruction whenever a bulky household package is passing through the door space.

3. Whenever the set up is not like the number one,in the sense of immediate adjacent walls. The door leaf should swing to the left side if the light switch is located at the right side. The light switch position should also be noted if the door opens straight into a veranda.

If the door leaf swinging side is not considered before installation, the idea of the ease of movement in and around the house has been murdered.
